Integrated planner Equipment → infrastructure

Build the whole show.
See what it demands.

Declare the equipment package once. AV Stage Tools turns it into station power, outlets and breakouts, signal cable stock, long-run transport checks, generators, LAN switching, PoE, wireless capacity and fiber uplinks.

01 · Package

Equipment and station map

The example matches the requested 48-panel wall, two line-array hangs, eight subs and an audio station. Zero-watt rows are intentionally blocked until you enter exact nameplate data.

Hierarchy: Production → venue → event date → room/stage → department/system → equipment and connections. These identifying fields stay out of the temporary cookie.

PLANNING MODEStart with an event package, then replace every assumption.

Presets provide common device relationships, not a rental recommendation or approved equipment list.

Choose a profile to replace the example with a complete editable starting package.

Selected reference: Record software, codecs, output format, redundancy and storage; replace the 850 W allowance with the complete computer's measured/nameplate data. Published specification ↗

Explainable compatibility

Connector shape and carried signal are separate facts. Every result states why it passed, what infrastructure is missing and which exact manufacturer values still need verification.

03 · Distribution

Power outlets, breakouts and feeders

Breakouts solve physical outlet distribution. The user-entered outlet-circuit assumption converts declared load into distribution counts; AV Stage Tools does not select breakers and never treats extra outlets as extra amperage.

Cable stock, snakes and feed groups

“Units per feed” captures daisy chains and processor capacity. Set it from the exact panel, amplifier, network or controller documentation.

05 · Long runs

Resolution, distance and active handoffs

A digital format does not automatically downgrade cleanly at a universal distance. AV Stage Tools uses a published standard limit where one exists, otherwise it requires the exact product’s tested 4K and 1080p limits.

Use a manufacturer-rated optical HDMI or video-over-fiber system. Do not assume cascaded boosters will preserve format or HDCP.

06 · Network package

LAN, wireless, video and control

Build the event network from endpoints and traffic—not a guessed switch count. Video, camera, wall-control, audio, PoE and wireless devices remain visible by VLAN and bandwidth demand.

Access-point quantity is a client-capacity floor, not a coverage design. Confirm RF survey, interference, channel plan, antenna pattern, mounting, PoE wattage, switch fabric, multicast/IGMP behavior, protocol compatibility, cybersecurity and venue policy with qualified network personnel.

07 · Display audience analysis

Viewing distance, pitch, image size and brightness

The venue audience depth populates the farthest viewer and the selected LED equipment record names the product. All calculations use the same engine as the standalone display tool.

Audience geometry
Display / DVLED product
Content / required detail

Nearest viewer controls pitch. Farthest viewer and content element size control physical image size. A finer pitch cannot repair text that is physically too small.

Pixel-visibility criterion
Ambient contrast / brightness

No measured lux or surface reflectance means brightness remains UNKNOWN. A maximum-nit rating alone cannot prove ambient contrast.

Formulas, assumptions and source references

Pixel angle: 2 × atan(p ÷ 2D). Maximum pitch: 2 × D × tan(θ ÷ 2). Ambient reflection: lux × reflectance ÷ π. The brightness model assumes simplified Lambertian reflection and compounds user-entered reserves.

07 · Production standards

Camera, RF and venue checks

These checks belong with the production model because their results affect routes, equipment, network and crew preflight—not as disconnected calculators.

Multi-Cam Sync Planner

Declare the production standard once, compare every camera, then perform and review a recorded clap/flash sync test.

Settings aligned

Record and review a clap or flash test before rolling.

Matching menu labels does not prove synchronization. Confirm reference cabling, format, timecode jam stability and recorded sync on the exact equipment chain.

What the planner refuses to guess

Power: Ampacity, connector rating, breaker selection, phase balance, neutral loading, grounding/bonding and generator paralleling require the exact equipment and qualified approval.

Video: HDMI has no universal cable-length limit. A 4K path outside its tested limit is not guaranteed to become a clean 1080p path; select a rated transport and test the entire chain.

Network: Port arithmetic cannot prove RF coverage, multicast performance, latency or protocol interoperability.
